Tutorial 3A: My first JSR-170 application

This is a half-day technical workshop by David Nuescheler and Peeter Piegaze.

This workshop will provide Java developers with an overview of the new Content Repository API for Java Technology (JCR) and give them an opportunity to get some hands-on experience coding to the API on a JCR compliant repository.

The workshop is organized into three sections:

  • Firstly, a general discussion on content repositories: what they are and where they fit into the world of storage infrastructure and why the JCR standard is important for the Java community.
  • Secondly, a detailed look at JCR repository model.
  • And finally, an introduction to the JCR API with hands on coding using Day CRX, a JCR compliant repository.

This workhop will be of interest to those developing applications on top of a JCR repository as well as those interested in implemenenting their own JCR repositories.
