Tutorial 4: Writing for websites and intranet

This is a full day tutorial by Nils Ulrik Pedersen on how to structure and write text for websites and intranets.

CMS is in itself no guarantee for succes. What is needed is a framework for building and handling information in ways that support consistent information patterns and efficient work flows. In this workshop you will learn how to identify and develop information structures that are based on users' needs and that will prompt users to take action.

  • Providing structure by identifying and building information models that support your companys communication goals.
  • Supporting navigation by cross linking information so that users are less dependent on the traditional hierarchic structure of most sites.
  • Converting non-users to users by improving Google findability by text alone.
  • Converting users to customers by offering actionable features and services integrated in text and information.

We will discuss how to transform a culture of unstructured writing in the organization to one of collaborative effort. This is a workshop for writers, editors, content producers and webmasters in businesses, organizations and government.
